CATL’s share grew by 1.6 percentage points in January from December, while BYD saw its share decrease by 0.29 percentage points due to lower NEV sales.
China’s overall power battery installations was 38.8 GWh in January, up 20.1 percent year-on-year but down 48.6 percent from December.

BYD acquired mining rights to two plots of land in a lithium-rich part of Brazil in 2023, Reuters reported.
BYD’s mineral rights are located in the Jequitinhonha Valley, known as Brazil’s lithium valley.

Nio develops new aluminum alloy material and uses it in ET9 and Onvo L60

China’s NEV retail sales for February 1-9 were up 11 percent from a year ago, but down 36 percent from a month earlier.
