For January 1-19, China’s retail sales of all passenger cars were 1.05 million units, 5 percent lower than the same period last year and 27 percent lower than the same period last month.
Wholesale sales of NEVs for January 1-19 were 503,000 units, up 57 percent from a year ago but 35 percent lower than the same period last month.
Nio Onvo’s 2nd model said to have completed trial production
The Onvo L80 has completed trial production and is about to enter the Tooling Trial phase, according to an image allegedly from Onvo.
Earlier this month, an Onvo vice president said the brand’s second car, benchmarked against Li Auto’s Li L8 or Li L9, would be released in the second half of this year.

A Nio executive has denied that he is involved in a robot dog project, after a story last night sparked widespread discussion.
Tesla has released a humanoid robot, and several Chinese car companies, including Xpeng, have announced similar products.
