Chery Omoda 5 EV unveiled, to run on a 61 kWh battery pack

Chery first announced its Omoda 5 SUV at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year and now, during the Geneva/Qatar Motor Show, the company is pulling the wraps off of the EV variant. For those of you who don’t know, Chery plans to deliver EV and ICE configurations to the European market as well. Chery Omoda 5 EV The Omoda 5 EV will arrive with a 61 kWh battery pack, capable of doing 450 km on a charge. Power figures weren’t confirmed, but the SUV can hit 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. I don’t think it’s fair to call the Citroën Ami a “weird car.” Not because it isn’t weird, but rather because it isn’t a car. It’s technically considered to be a quadricycle, a type of vehicle classification in Europe that falls somewhere between a motorcycle and a standard car. That helps it thread the needle of low cost and low regulations while still offering much the feeling of an actual car.
