Moulding method for pack covers


Materials firm Sabic has successfully moulded an EV battery pack top cover using low-pressure injection moulding (writes Nick Flaherty).
The trial of the process is part of Sabic’s Bluehero initiative to show the manufacturability of large EV battery components using thermoplastic injection moulding.
This specific form of injection moulding caters to the large size and functionality of the top cover, and is a new approach for the high-volume production needs of the future for EVs. More…

Polestar 4 has the lowest carbon impact of all Polestar vehicles at launch

The Polestar 4, unveiled back in April for the Chinese market, is the vehicle with the lowest carbon impact at launch from the entire Polestar lineup. The brand just published its Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for it, and the results are great. The Polestar 4 is made at Geely’s SEA factory in Hangzhou Bay, China. This plant combines green electricity that carries the I-REC hydro power certificate with photovoltaic electricity from its roof. Indian firm EAM to invest $650 million in North Carolina EV battery manufacturing facility


Epsilon Advanced Materials (EAM), an Indian battery materials company and a subsidiary of Epsilon Carbon, plans to build a $650-million graphite anode manufacturing facility in Brunswick County, North Carolina.
