VW Group increases electric car deliveries by a third in Q3
The Volkswagen Group delivered a total of 252,100 electric cars worldwide across all brands in the third quarter of 2025. This represents an increase of 33.1 per cent. The 2026 Geely Xingyuan starts at RMB 65,800 ($9,240) with limited-time offers, primarily competing against BYD’s Seagull and Dolphin.
The Xingyuan has become one of China’s best-selling models, with over 400,000 units sold in the past year.
Kia runs cell-level battery passport trial in Europe
Kia Europe is publicly testing a battery passport at the cell level for the first time as part of preliminary research. A Kia EV3 produced in Korea and equipped with a Dukosi battery cell monitoring system was shipped to Germany for the test. The test vehicle is capable of collecting and transmitting live data for each battery cell and uploading it to its digital battery passport. Read more…

CPCA estimates China Sept NEV wholesale to rise 22% to 1.5 million
From January to September, China’s NEV wholesale sales are estimated at 10.45 million units, up 32 percent year-on-year.
Among major automakers’ NEV wholesale sales, BYD recorded 393,060 units, while Geely reached 165,201 units.
CATL closes $280 million first external funding round for skateboard chassis unit, report says
Following the funding, CAIT-SH is valued at over RMB 10 billion, becoming the first unicorn in the skateboard chassis sector.
Funds from this round will primarily support mass production of CATL’s Bedrock Chassis models and R&D for next-generation technology.
