Hyundai to manufacture electric vehicles in Turkey

Xiaomi’s EV business brings in $2.5 billion in revenue in Q1, up 11% from Q4

Xiaomi’s innovative businesses, which include EV and AI, posted a gross margin of 23.2 percent in the first quarter, up from 20.4 percent in the fourth quarter last year.
In the first quarter, Xiaomi delivered 75,869 SU7 series vehicles, up 8.86 percent from 69,697 in the fourth quarter.
Chinese autonomous driving tech firm WeRide expands into Saudi market

WeRide will begin robotaxi pilot operations on the Uber platform in the coming months and plans to launch commercial robotaxi operations in Saudi Arabia within 2025.
WeRide has tested and deployed autonomous driving products including Robotaxi, Robobus, and Robosweeper in several Saudi cities.

First Bus charging depots now open to third party use

China’s 1st large-scale lithium-sodium hybrid energy storage station goes into operation

The energy storage station uses the latest high-capacity sodium-ion batteries with a top response speed six times faster than other existing sodium-ion batteries.
It can store 800,000 kWh of electricity per day, which can be used by 270,000 households.
Li Auto’s updated Li L6 exceeds 10,000 deliveries

The Li L6 is Li Auto’s main-selling model, contributing 48.19 percent of the company’s deliveries in the January-April period.
Li Auto launched the updated L-series EREVs on May 8 and began their deliveries on May 9.
China EV insurance registrations for week ending May 25: Nio 3,840, Tesla 11,000, Xiaomi 6,800

Nio Inc, which includes the Nio, Onvo and Firefly brands, had 6,530 insurance registrations in China last week, down 1.80 percent from the previous week.
Tesla’s insurance registrations in China last week were down 1.17 percent from 11,130 units in the previous week.
Chinese regulator gathers automakers to discuss zero-mileage used car sales, report says

China’s commerce ministry will meet with industry bodies and automakers to discuss the sales of used cars that have never been driven, Reuters reported.
As a result of years of price wars in the auto industry, a phenomenon known as “zero-mileage used cars” has emerged in the Chinese market.
