The ride-hailing service Uber is advancing its robotaxi initiative and entering into a close partnership with electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian. The goal is to bring up to 50,000 robotaxis from Rivian onto the Uber platform, based on Rivian’s R2 electric SUV. To achieve this, Uber plans to invest up to 1.25 billion US dollars in Rivian.
