‘Utrecht Energized’ launched: How bidirectional charging is set to make the breakthrough


Bidirectional charging is often hailed as the holy grail of e-mobility. The batteries of electric cars are not only used for driving but can also power homes – or even help stabilise the electricity grid. Due to numerous hurdles, it has remained largely in the realm of pilot projects. But Utrecht has now launched the real-world operation of a significantly larger initiative – starting with 50 bidirectionally charging EVs, with a target of 500.
