GAC Aion unveils Hyper HT with gull-wing doors

After a recent – and slightly confusing – tease, GAC Aion has officially unveiled the Hyper HT. And yes – it does come with a set of gullwing doors, but the story is not that straightforward. The Hyper HT is a mid-size fastback SUV and is quite an interesting addition to the growing list of electric cars. Starting at an attractive price of RMB 213,900 (approximately €27,500), the Hyper HT is the latest offering from the Hyper sub-division of GAC Aion. BMW shifts gears – ICE production stops in Germany

BMW marks the end of an era in Germany, as the last internal combustion engine (ICE) has left its Munich production line. This does not signify a complete farewell to combustion engines for BMW, but it’s as symbolic a move as they come. BMW’s Munich factory, a site that has been synonymous with the roar of combustion engines for over six decades, is undergoing a transformation. Unlike road EVs, off-highway vehicles need different battery solutions but in only small batches. Rory Jackson looks at how this company addresses that For on-highway vehicles, electrification is now seen as the way to go, but the future for electrified off-highway ones such as construction dozers, mining trucks and so on is less clear.
Off-highway mobile machines are often larger than the biggest on-road trucks, and vary widely in their size, power, cost, environmental harshness, and weight. For example, there are 0.5 t mini-excavators and 400 t haul trucks, and if you include non-terrestrial vehicles, there are 500 t aircraft and 55,000 t container ships in need of electrification. New Renault Twingo EV concept is official with incredible efficiency

Just as anticipated in a report from a few hours ago, today Renault has unveiled its new affordable electric city car, and, unsurprisingly, it’s called Twingo. This isn’t going to be the first electric Twingo – there was another one launched in 2020. The new Twingo EV is promised to cost “under €20,000” and come with incredible efficiency – a consumption of only 10 kWh per 100km has been mentioned.
